Conciliation, a very useful process when both parties actively participate
Mark Etherington, a conciliator on the Society of Chartered Surveyors Conciliation Panel, was recently appointed as conciliator by agreement from both parties.
The matter was successful, settling during a hearing, held at our 13 Clyde Road offices. This showing again the benefit of early neutral intervention, when both parties have a genuine desire to engage in the process.
Parties should note that the costs are a fraction of other dispute resolution processes and with the parties maintaining some control, you often find they are more receptive to compromise.
