Summary Experience

 

Mark commenced his training in 1992 as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor in England. Mark qualified as a chartered surveyor with the RICS in 1997.  In 2003, Mark completed a Master Degree in Construction Law & Arbitration at King's College, London. From there, Mark moved to a construction consultancy primarily concerned with assisting parties in dispute resolution using mainly Arbitration and Adjudication ADR processes.

 

Mark moved to Ireland in 2005, initially working for a Main Contractor as National Commercial Manager . In this role, Mark was responsible for, inter alia, contract drafting, risk management, contentious dispute negotiation/resolution and commercial advice and was involved in a number of conciliations and arbitrations during this period.

 

In September 2007, Mark joined KPMG Ireland as Director, Forensic as Head of Engineering and Construction Group. For the last 8+ years Mark has been engaged on numerous disputes and taken appointments as Quantum Expert in Litigation proceedings, Arbitration as well as Conciliation hearings. Also during this time, Mark has been involved in construction receivership work, including taking appointments himself and advising Banks and NAMA in relation to extracting value from development assets (including the managing of completing a number of developments), negotiated development and planning bonds with councils as well as recovering construction debts.

 

Building on the experience that Mark has gained, Acua was formed in April 2016, to continue to serve the construction industry.
